So, what IS the donation fund?
It's a fund for people who cannot afford to attend the
2008 St. Louis Comic Cookout.
Okay, that makes sense. How does it work?
See the list to the right? These are people who are currently waiting for the necessary cash to make it to the cookout. We start from the top of the list and provide money for travel expenses until we either run out of funds or run out of people on the list. Any extra money left over will be donated to Ryan and Beth Kolter, the organizers of the cookout, to cover expenses.
How do I donate to the fund?
You can use the Paypal button conveniently located under the current donation pool to the upper right. Or, if you'd prefer to send a check / money order, e-mail us at cgtripfund@yahoo.com for more information.
How can I get on the list?
Send your name, location (city, state/province, country) and what airport, train or bus station you plan to travel from to cgtripfund@yahoo.com. Names are added to the list as they come in, so the sooner the better!
Can I sign a friend up?
Yes, but please include their contact information (e-mail, forum handle, etc.) in your e-mail. We must verify they want to be included in the cookout fund before we add them to the list.
Is there a deadline to enter?
We will stop taking submissions on March 15, 2008. This gives us time to purchase travel tickets before the prices exceed the limitations of the fund.
Are there any incentives to donate / join the list?
Of course! You have the opportunity to meet and help cartoonists get together and have a lot of fun!
But I feel bad taking money from starving artists!
You're missing the point of the fund. We want to see you there! If we didn't care about getting people to the event, there wouldn't be a fund. So sign up already! |
